Paul Trigg believes fervently in Turkey's central role in European affairs, a claim he made in the opening programme of the series entitled "The New Europeans" for BBC Radio 4 some years ago. His conviction that Turkey belongs in the new Europe and that there is a need to know more about this country and its people prompted him to establish The Trigg Foundation, which seeks to introduce the new generation to the new Turkey. Paul Trigg has worked in education for the last twenty-five years in many countries overseas - at universities, for the British Council and Trinity College London. He offers his own experience and that of his many contacts to those interested in expanding their intellectual horizons in a world where understanding of the history, beliefs, habits and customs of others is increasingly important.
